Over the weekend of Saturday November 2nd to Sunday November 3rd, Fulton County accepted in-person drop off of absentee ballots. The GA GOP filed a lawsuit claiming it is illegal for Fulton County to have election offices open over the weekend for voters to return absentee ballots.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge ruled in a hearing on Saturday November 2nd that state law specifically allows the hand-return of mail ballots.
All four offices of the Department of Registration & Elections will be open and available to receive absentee ballots:
- Sunday, November 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Monday, November 4 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Tuesday, November 5 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Fulton County elections leadership has provided guidance to all staff that observers are permitted to watch the absentee ballot return process.
